Guest Picks: Keep it Clean
I'm itching to get two of these monogrammed or stitched with my husband's and my names for our bed. They're simple and sleek, but the added personalization takes them to a new level.
I am a person who has tchotchkes and can't really handle the thought of getting rid of them. That said, it drives me crazy to have them scattered about the house and taking up valuable surface space on nightstands and tables. But I do love the idea of having a cool shelf like this to display them and some framed pictures.
Oh my, the entryway has been a source of anxiety and stress for me for months. It's so cluttered and the coat rack I have right now just doesn't work. I love this simple, clean piece. It's small but totally functional. I think it would solve many of my entryway problems.
The knife block is such a useful kitchen tool, but so many of them are just plain ugly and take up too much counter space. I wouldn't mind this one being on display because I love its lines and the cool method of storage.
I tend to serve salt and pepper out of bowls, but these cool shakers make me want to reconsider that.
Everybody needs a huge mirror of some sort in their house. I really appreciate how unassuming this one is. It makes a statement, but in a relaxed, calm way.
I know these bright colors sort of counter everything else in this ideabook, but I do like the concept of having pillar candles. They can be easily changed and switched around to make a bold statement.
These café chairs are super popular these days, and their clean design will keep them in style throughout the ages.
I love the clean lines of this coffee table, as well as the idea of using the middle shelf as a way to store away and display pretty crystals or other tchotchkes. It allows for cool detail, in a more muted way.
So long, baskets. This is now the only way I ever want to store firewood. I'm obsessed.
The best fire pits, in my opinion, are simple and unassuming. A sturdy steel bowl is ideal, don't you think?
If there's one thing I've learned over the years of hosting holiday dinners with my mother, it's that a good tablecloth is highly necessary in life. I can already see our Thanksgiving feast on this table above.
Honestly, I think that candlelight shouldn't just be saved for power outages and romantic evenings. Now that it gets darker earlier, I'm looking to light up all of my evenings with flickering light. I think these lanterns would be utterly magical at night.
Weck jars are an excellent and lovely way to store all kinds of kitchen goodies, and this juice jar set is remarkably affordable. How sweet would they be at brunch holding all kinds of juices?
I love crystals and I love candles, so naturally, I can't live without these votive holders. I love the combination of functionality and decor here.
I absolutely despise the throws on my couch right now. I'll just say it: They're hideous. I've been looking for a throw that I won't tire of too quickly, and I think that something simple like this would be just the ticket.
While I love many of the labels on bottles of booze, I'm not sure that anything looks quite as nice as a decanter filled with scotch — and I'm sure there is some science to it as well. I just appreciate the clean design and plaid detailing on this piece.
I know it's just barely November, but I couldn't help myself. I want to scatter pretty snowflake ornaments like this one all over my house already. I think it would make for really modern, festive decor.Next: So Your Style Is: Contemporary
