9. You dislike the radiatorOne thing that often seems to get forgotten in bedroom design schemes is the radiator. Unless you have deliberately chosen a particular style, such as a chunky column radiator to fit under a window, or even a sleek mirrored version, you may just have inherited one you’re not particularly keen on. How can you solve it? If your budget won’t stretch to changing it, you could always consider a radiator cover. These can either be made to measure or bought in specific sizes from most DIY outlets. There are a few different patterns to choose from and, of course, you don’t have to restrict yourself to a simple white one. You could paint it the same colour as the walls in your room to help it blend in. The top of the cover provides a useful shelf for ornaments or books, and the heat is emitted from the patterned sides rather than drifting straight up to the ceiling.
Invest in: Useful storageA sleep space should be calm and restful, so a ‘floordrobe’ full of heaped clothes just won’t cut the mustard. In order to keep your bedroom uncluttered, it’s essential to have good storage. Invest in the most practical wardrobe you can afford, and pay attention to how sturdy it is and how many items it will hold. If you do have some extra budget, it might be worth paying for some bespoke joinery, too. The shelving unit here is brilliantly practical for lining up books you intend to tackle and is even fitted with a couple of flush reading lights.Find wardrobes and armoires in the Houzz Shop
