patio
Maverick, can we do a low hearth, even with the patio and a larger (taller) firebox? See photo below from designer focus international for example.

this is the shape we love, and love the low hearth with no firewood storage. But but with the brick that is similar to our chimney, Roman arch, and no different color accent stone.
If you were going to eventually do a Bluestone patio the Bluestone trim would tie it all together. What kind of trim-brick or stone would you want if it was not Bluestone?

Also love this stamp pattern. I think that is Bluestone flooring.

Maverick- what about stamped concrete? This looks tasteful and really nice with the weathered brick.
I am not a fan of stamped concrete. That is because it is covered and not exposed. I can not get any concrete installer to do such a small project in stamped concrete.

Maverick, what do you think about a 'patio tree' in the spot where you suggested the boxwoods? -luke
It will get too big.

I like the tongue and groove roof

this is the angled roof that I envisioned over both 'back to back' fireplaces..
Great looking project! $50K for roof, $30K for fireplace, $25K for patio plus electrical, plumbing, landscaping and irrigation.

I think I like this shape. Could we extend it with a short wall on either side like the picture? I think it needs some horizontal balance.

Awesome brick design
Brick is the least expensive option for both the fireplace and the patio floor.
