wow … here it picks up on the rug … kind of surprise choice, but it works …
Q
here they chose to pick up on the brown … not what i would have done …
what kind of design is that on the shade? like a faux zig zag? interesting idea …
AWFUL/
BORING
too blendy. this may have worked better if there were a white window frame.
here, they used shades to pick up on accent color in the room… again, it's limiting for future decor
beyond ugly
here's a dark room, and they went light on the shade. that works well.
shade darker than wall
blends too much with wall; needs some kind of contrast
darker than wall …
here, they could have gone with gray, but kept it white …
yet no pattern at all can look very boring, and even cheap.
see how even a simple pattern can get to looking very busy!!
again, shades darker than wall color
here, they picked a shade that was a shade darker than the wall color …
I don't like shades that open flat !!!!
while a colored shade adds a real pop/statement, it's not very flexible in terms of future decor … here, they'er tied into orange!
note that a plain shade can be embellished with a simple ribbon down the middle … maybe too "striped" looking for our LR, though.
note the wide width of the shade … and how even a simple pattern turns it into a focal point
note the color of the shade …
pleated roman shade, done with arched window
pleated roman shades
wow … here it picks up on the rug … kind of surprise choice, but it works …
