Charles' work evokes questions and mystery, at times, fun and whimsical with an attention to detail, believing beauty can be found in the smallest, most unusual places.Design, light and composition can be seen everywhere. He is inspired by the mightiest, puffiness clouds in the sky right down to a single tiny sparkle from a broken piece of glass on the pavement.
Charles is originally from a small rural farming community of Oakland,Nebraska and began painting at the age of 11. He would use his paper route money to buy art supplies. While still in high school he received a scholarship to attend a summer painting program at Otis/Parson's School of Design in Los Angeles. This experience greatly broadened his ideas of process and technique.
Charles moved to Los Angeles at the age of 18 and has held many art related jobs and for the last 20 years has been an illustrator for a "World Famous Company" that has theme parks all over the world...hmmm?
- His own work ranges from realism to abstract.
