Cynthia Taylor-Luce I've seen recommendations that spices and herbs be replaced after six months, which seems a little excessive to me. I like to buy mine at bulk food stores so I can purchase small amounts for a reasonable cost and put them into the old (washed out) bottles. Buying new bottles of spices and herbs is the most expensive way to acquire them. I keep the old bottles for years, just replacing the contents periodically.
Adapted for smaller containers? - Can this design be adapted for smaller containers? I tend to buy the ones that are half the height of the tall ones so the herbs and spices stay fresher. I have as many bottles, just not tall ones. »
