How did you get a fireplace approved in San Francisco? - Unless this is a remodel of an existing fireplace, as far as I know, it's near impossible to get an open front, fire burning fireplace in a project in CA/SF. »

langforda The wall for the fireplace is 6ft by 14ft. It has 2 ft wide windows on each side floor to ceiling. I am trying to finalize size of firebox and placement. Would welcome your comments.

cold rolled steel. They patina'd the metal. Went to metal fabricator and got it priced to cover mine 8ft x7ft approx 750.00 for steel with bends to cover 5 inches of side of fireplace. Just wished I knew how they mounted it. cement glued
