This fireplace was set in real Ledge Stone. The stone was in 5" x 10" aprox. We hand cut all outside miter joints and reframed this feature to add in the floating shelves and new lighting.
We purchased the stone from Pamas Slate and Stone on Terminal Ave. here in Vancouver.
I'm told that this line now includes outside corners which can make for a much easier installation but I prefer the look of the hand cut miters!

Shelves - What type of wood is used for these shelves, and how are they attached? I have a similar space next to my fireplace and I want shelves like these. »
