Hi-I'm helping my friend convert her front room into a place where her kids can hang out and play xBox and other computer games. The challenge is that there are no true walls in which to place a tv. Then, the angle in which the tv points is tough to see from many areas of the room. One wall has a fireplace flanked by 2 windows, across from this wall is a large door leading from the hallway. The adjacent wall contains a doorwall and across from there is a small area of wall, but the seating would be awkward. (She doesn't want the tv hung over the fireplace.) Here is the only layout I can figure out? Any thoughts? »
Lily Gahagan It's hard to tell much about the shape/key features of the desk from this angle, but here are a few lucite console tables that could work:
Tracy Murdock Allied ASID Thank you for your inquiry, It is a classic antique Persian rug from the family's collection. You can find them at any Persian rug dealer...
This room is designed for a teenager which you can see from the stuffed animal and poster on the wall. However, a few changes to tone it down and you've got a great bedroom for a single woman. I'd re-paint in a cream color, replace the lavender window covering with something more chic and get rid of the table and stand with the stuffed animal on it. I'd keep the great canopy and the desk/chair combo and add a rich velvety spread to the bed. That's my idea of being a modern princess!
This bedroom is just perfect for the modern-day grownup princess. It's got the canopy, it's got the pastel...and it's got Janis Joplin on the wall, wrapped in a boa. That tiny bit of edge makes all the difference.
My favorite dress of the evening was Mila Kunis's intricate Elie Saab lavender gown. This room already had the hue and the draping going on before Mila ever hit the red carpet.
Now this is quite the teenage pad. The soft lavender, stuffed animal and Janis Joplin poster give it a youthful vibe, while the a mix of contemporary and traditional furniture give it a sophisticated edge.
