Unfortunately they are designed to mount on a wood sub structure, So we had to create our own mounting system as many of our custom made pergolas are made from steel. We also had to incorporate some high end sailing pullys and jigs to ensure the ease of opening and closing of these umbrellas. Hope this helps..
