Leo Rackow's Marbeuf depicts an innovative automobile showroom in Paris and is prime example of cubist influences. Created in 1934 while the artist spent time studying with Fernand Leger in Paris, Rackow's interpretation captures the buildings monumental glass showcase with automobiles visible on the various floors of its structure and its massive concrete plateau-balconies in a beautiful simplification of color and form.
