The artist was tasked with creating a work of art that complimented an artwork made by a child. A recent graduate, Lola Thompson grew up and resides in Los Angeles, California. She studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and received her BFA from OTIS College of Art and Design. She also won the Jurors prize at the OTIS 2010 BFA show. While in Chicago, Lola curated and ran an independent art gallery, "The Revolving Door". She has showed at A+D Museum, which was juried by John Baldessari. What probably most inspires her work was her apprenticeship with the sculptor Robert Graham; she assisted him for three years, until his death in 2008. Lola works in a variety of mediums, including sculpture, installation, drawing, and performance.
