I lived in Sydney for three years so I can say there are barely any bugs in that region so no screens on the windows. No mosquitoes, no flies etc. Also, why have a pool when a stones throw from the ocean? The ocean is cold and gets warm only by the end of the summer, the waves are extremely strong so it's hard to have a decent swim, occasional beach closing because of blue bottles (small jelly fish). I would certainly prefer the privacy of a pool and the long use you can have of it if heated. As for the heat from the windows, there is always a nice cool breeze that comes in at the end of the day that cools things off, also all the overhang would provide some shade, and with a view like that, wow. Another thing is that winter can get cold so the lower sun would provide heat.

Because we have a tiny master bath and claustrophic walk-in (barely big enough for hubbie's clothes!), we've decided to get rid of our 30" sink and put a linen closet in its place, then tear down the wall into the closet and put a double sink there. To deal with the lack of closet that would created, we decided we didn't need all the space we had in our bedroom, so we're framing in two reach-in closets where we now have a blank wall (just need to move my dresser). I will SO be putting barn doors on the closets!!! We'll build the openings to a regular size so that if someone wants to put up standard doors later they'll be able to without too much trouble, but the barn door just calls to me. Now to figure out the style to use! I like the idea of the mirrors to bounce some light around (and provide some perspective when getting dressed!) and I really liked the example above, with the separate mirrors put together - much better than the usual mirrored closet doors - which always look very '80s apartment' to me.

Another height idea for a shower is to have a rain shower (heaven) that has a bar connecting it to the wall on a sliding ring. In France, many showers have this as well as the Presidio in San Francisco. Sorry, no photo.
It was wonderful, as being short, I just moved the bar down to my height while my husband moved it up to its full height. The shower also had not only rain shower, but also traditional hand held shower. Nice to have all the options. When we move, we will have a walk-in (wheelchair roll in ) access with seat and rain shower and hand held...Comfort is the #1 issue in a good shower design.

2-11/16" stiles. Rails are 2-11/16" on large drawers and 1-11/16" on small drawers.
