I love cerused rift cut oak but haven't found any cabinet stores that know of it around here. I live in Elgin. Can you tell me the name of the shop that does this for you please? I want this on kitchen cabinets. Would they do a veneer of this or are the whole cabinets made this way? Thank you . Your work is spectacular.

Thanks for your kind words about my work.

My design and fabrication partnership provides custom cabinetry and woodwork. As such we built all of the cabinetry, doors, mouldings, and factory finishing on this project.

We work nationwide. Current projects are in Cape Canaveral, Twin Cities, Wisconsin and Illinois. This project was designed and built by me. There are additional photos on my website: http://www.rjedesign.com/highrise.html Use the arrows on the lower left to see cabinet images in the same condo.

Regarding cerused oak, it is a totally custom process requiring additional woodworking and finishing steps. I'm not surprised you havn't found it. We spent a lot of effort to refine the technique.

My first impression was that your garage was too square, so I love the picture Pamela Bateman posted with the curved top garage doors & trim. Can you add some of the roof support/beam looking things (sorry don't know what they're called) under the eaves like in Madson Design's cabin drawing above? Also if you can make the roof line of the portico & dormer a little more droopy/curvy like the curved roof on the corner?

I also love the hanging roses & a nice picket fence would be beautiful! Make sure the walk to the front door has some curve to it & its made from different sized stones & lined with flowers. And by all means add a garden gate, arch, or arbor with hanging vines.

Came across this today while browsing at HGTV Gardens site. For those whose pocketbook is smaller than their home/garden dreams (like me!), maybe a little hobbit hole (add trees, vines, ferns), below. The blurb says suitable for sleepovers, tho' maybe just little kids:
"Wooden Wonders’ hobbit holes turn backyards into whimsical wonderlands. The brand-new playhouse version Woodshire, produced in Unity, Maine, is an enclosed space ideal for summer sleepovers and imagination-filled play dates, from $2,390 at www.wooden-wonders.com
