My wife and I worked with Karen on a landscape design project in early 2022. We engaged her for consultation around what types of plants, trees and shrubs to include across our front and back yard spaces. We had specific goals around creating a landscape with colorful, drought tolerant, California-native options and Karen knocked it out of the park. Here is what we appreciated most about Karen: - She actively listened to our needs and responded with a wealth of ideas that she helped focus down with our input - She was well organized and highly responsive, using Houzz, Plant Master and documents to guide discussions. - She thoughtfully pushed our thinking and was detail-oriented as we moved from concept stage to making requests of our gardener and nurseries Lastly, we were very pleased with the range of packages/pricing she offered since we only needed consultation vs. end-to-end landscaping support. We highly recommend her!

Karen created a plan to replace the planting in our front yard. I am so happy with the results!! Karen was an absolute pleasure to work with, through the entire process! I was especially pleased with the manner in which she made sure she understood what we wanted and incorporated our input into the plan. She provided great advice throughout. It was a very interactive and collaborative process, with ample opportunities to review, discuss and adjust. I am actually sad that the project has been come to an end, because I so enjoyed working with Karen! I'm looking forward to having another garden project, so that I can hire her again! I am a so thankful that I had Karen Hunt to be my visionary! She has made my dream backyard become a reality for me and my family. She took time to understand what I loved and helped me bring it to life. I have now become a plant lover and am excited to see my backyard grow and thrive.

We did a major landscaping/gardening project that felt daunting but thanks to Karen Hunt and San Carlos Garden Works we are absolutely thrilled with how everything turned out and how easy it was! Karen is extraordinary at what she does. She handled every detail and was so fun to work with! She helped us choose all the planting, helped with design, helped coordinate with my gardener (with whom I haven't had great communication with) for planting and drip systems, and was a terrific partner. She was quick and efficient and knowledgeable and joyful about the work. She was always accessible and very quick to respond. I was dreading doing this project but Karen made it a family event that we all enjoyed. I'm so proud of how my backyard looks now and would work with Karen every time and recommend her very highly.

I loved working with Karen on my patio and garden project. She helped me create a plan based on my needs for a small space and my preferences for a lush and low maintenance garden. Typically a DIY'er, I was so thrilled with my decision to consult with Karen; her knowledge and experience saved me hours of time, and it was a fun and easy process!

Karen was terrific to work with. Our townhouse community demolished a swimming pool that wasn't getting enough use to justify the expense and we contacted Karen for ideas on what to do with the open space. She jumped on the project quickly and enthusiastically. Communication was great: she asked excellent questions, and listened carefully to our requirements. Our budget was limited and she came up with designs to fit our constraints. We'll definitely work with her again should the need arise!

Karen did an amazing job on our backyard. The end result is gorgeous beyond our wildest dreams, and she was terrific to work with from start to finish, from her transparent contract process to each step of the design process to the final work and planting. She had great ideas and was always ready to adjust where we wanted. She also hooked us up with a wonderful contractor to do the work. I'm looking forward to getting her help on the front yard next! Karen helped transform our dated, "suburban yard" into a beautiful, and functional outdoor space. We wanted public-facing spaces that were natural, low water and low maintenance, and more private areas with zones for fruit trees and bee and butterfly-friendly native plants. Karen worked with us to design the spaces, made suggestions about plants that would work in our site (which turned out to be spot-on), got all of the appropriate city permits and guidelines and connected us with a contractor who did a fantastic job turning the design into reality.

We had a great experience with San Carlos GardenWorks. We have a large yard and the landscaping had become overgrown and dated. We wanted an update that would not only improve the appearance of our yard, but that would lower our water needs (and bill) as well. Karen listened carefully to our needs and wants, and helped us develop our thoughts into a beautiful plan. We especially like that the plan included a large variety of plants that would provide color throughout the year. Throughout the process, Karen was patient and responsive. We enjoyed working with her. In sum, we think that Karen provides great value and we highly recommend San Carlos GardenWorks!

Karen was a delight to work with. Had great recommendations and was very responsive to feedback. Construction project is not completed, but am very happy with her design. Also appreciated many drafts and revisions without extra costs. good value!

We hired Karen to help turn our back yard Serengeti into a sanctuary! A place of rest and a place we would enjoy entertaining in. We choose Karen based on the reviews people have provided. Our project, though not huge, was important to us and we were very satisfied with the outcome. Karen guided us through the process, listened to us, helped us choose plants, hardscape and a contractor. The project included an extension of our patio with pavers and a "no lawn" garden with pathways to nowhere and places to sit. Karen was patient and explained everything and answered all our questions. We are very happy with our new yard and highly recommend Karen Hunt of San Carlos GardenWorks!

We have not yet completed our project, but we have been very pleased thus far. Karen is extremely responsive and knowledgeable, and she puts a lot of thought into her design. Her turn-around time is also very quick. We look forward to seeing the finished product!
