I purchased 3 sets of dual glazed French doors from Elite Building Materials. The joints started splitting and the wood started cracking at the lower panel of the doors. One set of doors has black spots between the glass. The distributor asked I contact TM Cobb directly. TM Cobb does not accept any responsibility they claim my overhang does not meet their recommendation. They sent a new set to replace the set with black specks but the wood was already splitting and their installer agreed to get it fixed. Now I’m being told it is “industry acceptable”. TM Cobb will not provide me better doors nor will they refund my money. Terrible customer service no accountability TM Cobb takes no responsibility nor does Elite the distributor. Do not buy doors from TM Cobb, terrible product.

We purchased a wood 4 light custom Dutch door from Ganalhl lumber. I was Told this is one of the best doors you could get and it was not cheap. Nevertheless we have had it for a little over a year now and the door is literally falling apart right in front of us. A fairly big crack developed right in the center bottom portion of the Dutch door so big you can put a flat head screw driver a 1/4” in. The solid wood portion is bowed along the crack that it is now pulling the top portion paneling inside and outside and sticking away from the door with big gaps. It doesn’t shut right now and is all jacked up. This was a custom door do to the beveled glass we wanted. I personally think the wood and workmanship is bad. Moreover sense they use young wet wood for their solid pieces you get sap and bubble of paint because when the sun hits it lets out gas or steam and bubbles, and with those areas with the sap combined. I had it professionally installed and used the best primer and outdoor paint I could find. Had it fixed multiple times, sanded, reprimed and crack filled. But never less it just happens again. Very disappointed in this product. Thinking they have been around for a hundred years or more I would expect the best and unfortunately we got the worst.
I spoke to my guy at ganahal and he said one year warranty that’s it, will we are 2 months late. Best he could do it a discount, how much not sure yet but very dissatisfied to say the least. Do not buy this product.

I purchased a relatively expensive front door from a local company and the manufacturer is TM Cobb. The door was warped and after going back and forth with the seller and TM Cobb for over 6 months, TM finally replaced the door. Unfortunately the second door is defective as well and TM is taking the position that there is nothing wrong. I have paid to have the first door painted, then again for the second door. TM's customer service is horrible, as is their product.

Comment from TM Cobb:
Hello Cyndi Margolis
Who was the dealer you purchased from and the name of the sales associate? When was the door installed and painted? Wood doors particularly wood panels will shrink and swell as they acclimate to current ambient conditions. The picture here shows that the wood panel has moved (slight Shrinkage) and caused the paint line to separate. I would recommend that you ask your painter to clean up this joint and apply a slight bead of flexible caulking and touch up as necessary. This should fix what I see in this picture.

We are very disappointed and angry to get our Dutch door with a defect in each of the nine glass panes. We purchased the door through a wonderful company " General Millwork Supply" who got the door from TMCobb. Once the door was painted and installed which was yesterday Dec. 12, we were surprised to see thru the glass an unusual shadow & background trim around each glass pane. Shocking!
How can a simple design that's been around for centuries be messed up so badly? There is absolutely no excuse for this gross error that caused us inconvenience, wasted time and money for the contractor who painted it and installed it. We have full faith in General Millwork Supply in ensuring that a new door with zero defects be made by TM Cobb as soon as possible.

We purchased a Cobb Custom french door with two features. The combination feature which allows the doors to function as windows, and the multi-point locking system, which features Hoppe hardware.
It turns out that the windows in the door do not open because the Hoppe hardware system only offers lever handles which are too long!
The window opens about 1-2 inches then stops dead as the handle blocks it from opening.
I called Cobb and my door supplier about this around 30 times overall trying to get a fair resolution. Cobb told me to not pursue it with them and to contact my door dealer. The problem is the dealer had no idea the door wouldn't work.
Why would Cobb sell a door that doesn't open and it wasn't cheap? Very unhappy with a company I used to respect.
