Modern Windows - Aluminum & Vinyl Products

We recently had Modern come and replace our old aluminum widows with new vinyl windows. We couldn’t be happier with the quality of product and service. The guys were so great. Super friendly to my family and animals, to the point they even cleaned up my puppies mess. I’ve been in the trades for 20years now and I’m quite particular, they went above and beyond!!! We are so thrilled with the end result. I highly recommend Modern windows, they are very organized clean and efficient. We spent about $6000 on new gutters only to have a big section fall down in the first year. It was apparent they did a lousy job installing. They used 1.5-inch screws and in some places, it was as much as 6 feet between screws. For 11 months they've been breaking promises to come and fix the problem. I have not used them for windows but they should be your last choice for gutters.

We had windows replaced by Modern in Courtenay based on a quote, the work and windows appear fine. A few days after installation, prior to paying, a flyer appeared giving 30% off on vinyl windows which was not honored. The local branch manager Dave said "I can do whatever I want, sell the windows at whatever price I want, I am the boss here". He uses used car salesman type selling/pricing based on MSRP from the manufacturer (which is part of the Modern business). Claims we got 45% off MSRP (nowhere stated on original quote). If true, the 30% off flyer is complete bogus, false advertising and worthless, unnecessary and no deal for the future customer. Additionally, the flyer states 30% off on installed windows, however, apparently it is only for certain vinyl windows per Dave--- misleading advertising with no fine print that states clearly on the flyer that it is only for a particular type of vinyl window. Buyer beware... The salesman was genuine and helpful and the workmen also.

Modern offered excellent professional advice on solutions to replacing the windows in my 1945 home. They sent out a representative to measure so that I would get an accurate estimate on the replacement of my all my windows. They also gave me samples and took time to show me how their windows were manufactured.

The job was to replace all of the windows and patio does in our house, Our experience with Modern Windows was excellent from start to finish. The consultants provided us with excellent information and were very patient with our questions. The windows were delivered when promised and the installers worked around our schedule - even when their office was affected by the recent floods. The work was completed on schedule, the installers explained what they were doing, and did an excellent job. We are very happy with all aspects of this job.
