There were many section 1 items that had to be fixed and Sam's team performed high quality work and was flexible to allow us as new owners to have input into the work that was performed and the materials used to make it feel like our new home! After talking to several other contractors, we decided to engage Nilscraft Construction as Sam really "got" what we were trying to do with our garage project. He came up with several great ideas that helped reduce the profile of the structure to preserve our view from the deck above it. Sam handled coordination with all the regulators and other contractors very smoothly. The project was completed on time and on budget and we couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. Perhaps as important, Sam was very pleasant and easy to work with. He explained options thoroughly and knew when to nudge us in the right direction to ensure we would be happy with the final structure. We hired Sam and his team to completely replace one deck, and repair another, per pest report issues. Not only was Sam prepared to work with a real estate deal, his bid was competitive, and was chosen for his overall professionalism, word of mouth recommendation, and visual inspection of other projects, including new home construction. Everything was beautifully done- his crew arrived daily, even shoveling snow off dirt in order to pour footings in very cold temperatures. Progress was very timely with no delays at all. His choice of woods for the deck reflected hand-selected care. His suggestions for improving the design of the original deck to be replaced were spot on.
