catwhit LOVE my induction cooktop. Bought from IKEA, it is a Whirlpool, as are all their appliances. Heating/cooling is as fast as gas, but without a flame.

I understand that the latest inductions cooktops are being designed without hobs. The entire surface will be useable; the appliance senses the size of your cooking vessel. Great for huge grill pans.

I found a very useful item, called a SCRUNGE, a sponge-like thing designed to clean induction and ceramic glass cooktops. It is amazing... Requires only water, and will even clean off burned on milk, without scratching.

Scott Cook & I would argue that 12 feet wide & up aren't particularly small to begin with.

The Sky is the Limit Design Scott, don't you think you are getting a bit caught up in the term 'small'? It's a subjective term, and honestly, most of the kitchens, even a so-called small one, in North America are most likely larger than what we really need to create a healthy meal.
