About Us
Rick G Spalenka, Principal licensed landscape architect of RgsDesigns LLC has been designing landscapes for over 30 years. Rick graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 1977 with a degree in Landscape Architecture and was commissioned as an ROTC Army Corps of Engineer Officer and served as a landscape architect with US Army Europe assigned to the Post Engineers in Garmisch, West Germany.
Rick owned a design/build, ground maintenance, garden center, nursery, and greenhouse business (Rainbow Gardens) in Virginia Beach, Virginia, for 15 years before moving to Western Colorado. Rick received a City of Virginia Beach award for his design and community involvement with the city's demonstration water-wise garden constructed in one of Virginia Beach's largest city parks.
