Summerour Architects is an Atlanta based firm founded by Keith Summerour, an Alabama native. Since 1991 the firm has been designing high end residential and commercial projects throughout the country. While the majority of the firm’s projects are located in the Southeast, you will find the designs of Summerour and Associates are also on the West Coast, the Mid-West and New England.
Keith’s goal has always been to design to the client’s wishes and engage the finest craftsmen and consultants we know to enhance these projects. Summerour’s work has been featured in many publications, including Architectural Digest, Southern Accents, Metropolitan Home, Veranda, Southern Living, Coastal Living, Trends Magazine, Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles, and Atlanta Style and Design. The firm’s most recent publication, Garden and Gun, features Summerour’s personal dream, a stone tower in rural Georgia. This tower serves as a rural studio where members of the firm can get away to work without interruptions and Summerour can getaway most weekends with his family. The firm has also received recognition as one of the top 100 architecture firms by the Institute of Classical Architecture.
A graduate of Auburn University (1981-1987), Summerour went on to broaden his knowledge of art and architecture with studies abroad and internships with many reputable firms such as Robert McAlpine. He went a step further by maintaining a studio in Florence, Italy for several years (2004-2007), so he could share his opportunities and experiences with members of his firm.
Maintaining a smaller firm has allowed Summerour to mentor members of the design team and play a part in each phase of the design process from conception to construction.
