Installed a cleat in ceiling and screwed valance into cleat

Is this something that can be done away from wall to hide speakers hung from ceiling in a home theater? I have a window on either side of a fireplace with a LARGE tv over it...the speakers are hung on the ceiling on the outer corners of the windows.
