I've heard that galvanized tubs are nit food safe. Could you comment on that?

Yes, new information indicates it may be best to provide a liner inside galvanized tubs if you are planting edibles and are very concerned about potential exposure to toxins. Non-edible plant material should not be adversely affected in galvanized tubs. I recommend you do diligent research to determine if this is the right design feature for your garden.
