I need to know the type of wood used in ceiling

Was is cedar ,pine .cypress ? What grade ? Was it tongue and grove ?

I too thinned down some white paint with water, about a 50/50 ratio, and I got a really good result. Used my old deck boards, power washed them, then whitewashed them and installed in a bathroom ceiling like this open ceiling with rafter look.

Do you have an answer on how the ceiling was done. Is it a whitewash or lime wash, stain or paint? Looks really great.

Like the white look of the ceiling. Can I get this look with aspen? Is it painted or stained?

I don't know about the finish on this ceiling, but I got a look like this by painting our beach house walls with half latex paint and half water. You can play with the mix until you get the look you like. Hope this helps.
