Colonial Farmhouse Bedroom Paint Color

Hi folks,

I am looking for some advice on colors to go with my 275 year old farmhouse master suite. There are nice brown wood beams in the ceiling. The room as currently shown is a pale green, which I do not like. I am also not into colonial period colors.

Thoughts? What colors would go well with those brown beams that is sort of neutral. Not really looking for dramatic, just trying to make a safe choice.

Any help is appreciated.

You can't go wrong with white. Have a look at Ben Moore Simply White - it is a warm but clean white, and seems to go with pretty much anything.

A warm white like Navajo white BM 947 could also work. For a little flavor, a white with a very slight tinge of blue, BM Patriotic White 2135-70. Avoid grey. A very pale yellow, BM Moonlight 2020- 60 would also brighten it up. All of these are understated colors.

I love your room! Ben Moore White Dove is what was used on the beadboard and trim in this room. It's paired with a very pale grey which also compliments the wood floors and beams. If you go with a white, I would use the same color on both walls and ceiling.
