is this plug approved in San Francisco? We have heard horror stories about SF DBI and the approval of plugs that are in any way non-standard.

I would just like to add a comment about acceptance in San Francisco.

Most of the pop ups like these are listed as relocatable power taps. They are fine to use if suitable for the environment, but will not be considered as the required receptacle in 210.52. Any pop up receptacle would at a minimum hard wired and listed for such use. San Francisco is not that difficult. Just show us the listing and installation instructions, and if in compliance, we will most likely approve its use. We are also user friendly, and if you have any questions about the use of a particular product, we would be happy to look at before installation and assist in determining a products suitability for such use. The problems usually occur after installation when the installation instructions are not available and/or not installed per instructions. Also, do not forget to check the local code amendments and call for clarification if there are any questions.
