Sofa Placement - Too far away - New Ideas?

Any suggestions experts, on how I should place this furniture? Its an open concept townhome. This is the living room. The sofas are in a standard position, but really, they are so far away from each other that when you sit to talk it's just not practical.
Any ideas on how to arrange this room?

The love seat also has a big empty space between the loveseat and the window. Not sure if the end tables should go there or not. Please help! I'm SO open to suggestions on arranging this furniture.

To give you an idea, if you are looking at both couches, there is a step up to the dining room area, so its really 2 rooms in one.

Is there room to put the sofa along the wall? That would already make it more interesting to look at as well as bringing the sofa closer to the love seat. An end table between the two woud then be nice.
