Do I understand that the windows open to the outside of the house? Negating fabrics, what would you think of Roman shades? Wood or Bamboo or tight woven fabric. Available in many colors.

Thank you...I love wood blinds and plantation shutters but I was afraid I would have to do a shade.

I would stay away from any wood type blinds they tend to get really heavy . I would recommend Room darkening Cellular Shades with a Top down Bottom up option. Its really great for bedrooms and with the top down bottom up option you can control the light and privacy in all the rooms.

Since you do not want fabrics, shutters is another option but pricey. Cellular shades will work but I believe they are a fabric, but you may be able to compromise.
