We are purchased home and doing some updating. This wall needs help. We were thinking some kind of stacked stone, removing hearth, and reconfiguring the built-ins. This is a great room that opens to kitchen. 10' ceilings. We are remodeling the kitchen with alder cabinets, SS appliances, Splendor Light granite, and simple travertine subway tile backslash. I'm afraid of too much stone since the floors are are also stone...Slate (Autumn). Should I be? These are not our furnishings. Our style is more Transitional (glass top parsons table, etc). What can we do with this wall? Please Help, I'm stuck. Thanks!
