Great looking kitchen - that looks like it could be a horizontal bookmatched rift cut walnut or possible rift cut oak. But I'm thinking walnut.

It looks to be a custom job to me, we do this all the time in our shop. Many times we hand select the veneer and work with the mill to achieve this look. To get the to match through out the entire job is difficult for a "Factory".

This kitchen is from Bulthaup and it is walnut.
