New Color For Living Room Wall

I just recently painted this secretary desk in Annie Sloan's Aubossum Blue. I love the color. However, since I've done that I think the accent wall around the fire place is just not a good match. I'm trying to create a "modern cottage" theme. I've attached pictures of the rest of the living room. Any thoughts on what color I should paint the accent wall?

I think a medium gray would be warmer.

How about a lighter version of the same colour blue for your wall.

Merry Christmas! One small detail that will make a big difference. Lower your paintings....the one over the blue chest could move down so that the top of the picture is about 2" above the top of the lamp shade.

The picture above the cabinet next to the FP needs to move down so the bottom of the picture is 2 or 3" above the chest. Is that the cabinet you painted?

I like the idea of a lighter color blue and actually gray too...that helps a lot! Thanks leelee for the suggestions about the pictures - I wondered about that myself - I will do this for sure. Yes that's the cabinet I painted. Thanks for the advice everyone! I should have posted the "after" Christmas pictures! :)
