Need thoughts on a heat pump system

we are building an 800 sq ft. addition to our house. Currently, we have windows AC and oil heat. I am considering the installation of central air, but am also interested in the possibility of a split mini Heat Pump system, like the Mitsubishi Mr. Slim or another brand.

I would really like to hear what people think about these systems. I like the idea of supplementing my heat in winter with the heat pump, but am not sure how effective it will be in the North East (we live in MA).

Likewise, I am not sue how well these cool relative to central AC.

Any info, thoughts or experiences are welcome!!

we live in Eastern Canada and my sister heats her entire 800 sqft house with a minisplit, if that helps!
