New Kitchen Island ugly, Can You help

I gave a picture of what i wanted. its very close to it, but the colour is all wrong..or is there any way i can keep the colour but inprove on it. or am i painting the wrong parts? do i need to remove some stuff? the top is staying, i want the hard wood kwilla top finish and the footing, everthing in the middle part where there is the green can be changed...or repainted. Please help if you can, how can i make it better. It looks wrong
