    The material used is simply paint grade 1" by 8" planks. This detail is an inexpensive way to achieve such a wonderful look .

    Did you stagger the 1"x8" planks when running them horizontally on the lower wall? Do they meet at the same point creating a vertical line all the way up the lower wall? I can't tell by the picture. Looks great!

    The builder did stagger the 1x8 and did a beautiful finishing job on it.
