office
When I saw this desk in person, I fell in love with its sleek, angular lines and the simplicity of the design.
Upstairs, a glossy pop of orange marks the kids' office space. Each child has a station along the back wall. The backsplash, shown temporarily cleared of notes and personal photos, is orange back-painted magnetic glass. The custom desk is covered in matching orange and the custom cabinets are finished in high-gloss white.
Pull-out desk drawer. This subtle home office looks more like a built-in bureau than a desk area. But when it's time to pay the monthly bills, the false front drawer reveals an entire working surface. This application's beauty is twofold: When it's not in use, everything resting on top of the drawer can stay in the same spot when you push it back. This particular drawer even comes with its own electrical outlet.
Rollout desktop. A rollout desk like this is a great way to provide you more workspace when you need it — and less when you don't. This traditional built-in desk has plenty of knee room for the everyday user, but the far cabinet pulls out as an extra countertop for larger projects — or even office space for two.
If you like to surround yourself with stuff: The polar opposite of the minimalists in their paperless offices, stuff lovers feel more comfortable with a happy amount of clutter. An L-shaped desk is great for those who like to toggle between spread-out papers and working on a laptop, and plenty of file drawers and cabinets provide storage for anything you might need close at hand.
The living room in this studio apartment doubles as a home office. It works because the desk is integrated into its surroundings and sports matching finishes, so you're not immediately aware that you're looking at a desk. (It helps that the top is neat.) The desk chair maintains the illusion, appearing more residential than commercial. Note the use of storage cubes in lieu of a conventional coffee table; they can also double as seating when friends pay a visit.
This fold-up table is designed for a craft space, but it could work as a dining table or an office desk in a pinch too. It folds up to a compact size and easily expands to provide enough room for working, crafting or dining Home decorators collection
