Not stupid at all... The island is in fact strongly fastened to the floor. We had access to the ceilling in the basement so it was easy to fastened it with bolt screws. It's suprisingly stable once installed!
Thanks
Hubert
msmorales Thank you so much! I can see my hubby crawling under our pier-and-beam to fasten the island down...(not). This is a lovely room, everything is simple and classy. Well done!
Guillelmi and Taschereau had to design the kitchen around four doorways, a large window and one pass-through to the dining room. This limited wall space for cabinets, so they got creative with spacing and storage. The appliances had been purchased and brought in beforehand to plan out spacing, smoothing the process. 20. Streamlined and Smart in MontrealHouzzers loved how this historic remodel embraced a modern design, with easy-to-clean materials. Built-in storage for wine, knives and books uses up every inch, while granite countertop and MDF cabinet facades make cleanup a matter of a simple wipe-down.Homeowner's Workbook: How to Remodel Your Kitchen
Obsessed with the height! Making the pieces grand could help make the kitchen feel much larger than it really is. That could also help accentuate the theme of grandness the house secretly maintains.
