A primary goal for this small out-building project was the creation of comfortable outdoor spaces for living and entertaining adjacent to an existing pool.
What kind of lighting fixures are creating the up lighting - I have a covered porch that I'd like to have side up lighting installed. Each side is about 10 feet long and will need to shine about 15' to the ridge. The local lighting company said to just use 8' florescent fixtures. »
Wyant Architecture Hi. I don't have product specs readily available for this project, but I know that we used xenon 'festoon' style strip lights. Fluorescent and LED styles are also available. Whatever you use, make certain that the fixture is damp rated for outdoor use, that it's dimmable and that you use bulbs with a warm color temperature (as opposed to a blue-ish light). If you are hoping to throw light 15ft to the ridge, you might also consider using Elliptipar fixtures to wash the ceiling plane. Good luck!
Wyant Architecture Decorative lighting for this job was selected by Lori Shinnal, an interior designer in Philadelphia. I don't have specification information for the fixture, but I suspect it is rated for 'damp locations' and not 'outdoor use'. You might check out Hubbardton Forge or Kichler if looking for something similar.
Wyant Architecture I don't have spec information for this particular fixture, but you might consider Hubbardton Forge Lighting or Kichler Lighting if looking for a damp rated chandelier. I think Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware also have a few options. Good luck!
