I really want the viewer to use their imagination and come up with their own story, like I did while making this piece. I see technology vs. art, or them working together. Right brain vs. left brain. Hardware is attached and the edges of this thick canvas are painted.

About the artist:

San Francisco based artist, Dyanna Dimick, attended UC Santa Cruz to receive her BA in Fine Art. She explores the conscious and the subconscious mind seperately, when creating her work.
Dyanna loves to evoke the imagination of the viewer. Images and deeper concepts appear the longer you examine these pieces. Sometimes it's an intentional hidden image or message and other times just an abstract shape that reminds you of something in life, like clouds forming in the sky. If others don't connect with the concept at first, or ever, they still have something interesting and colorful to explore.
Dyanna creates art in two very different ways. One starts with a clear idea and presents itself in a structured, planned out way. Many of her conscious mind pieces include found objects, bringing attention to life's commonly overlooked items. She appreciates the idea of reuse and bringing meaning to objects people often overlook.
Music, emotion, and environment inspire and highly influence her subconscious art process. These pieces start with an emotion and an environment catered to that mood. The finished pieces appear fluid, raw, and often dreamy. They display the deep reflection of Dyanna's subconscious of the time created.
After her first solo show in 2004, Dyanna has exhibited in various public spaces and galleries throughout California, sold work overseas and created art for various musicians.
