As an organic expressionist, I am inspired by the relationships of natural forms and how these forms relate to our memories and experiences. In Garden Dwelling, I explore vaguely figurative forms in their relationship to natural elements.
Jaclyn graduated from Massachusetts College of Art with a BFA in Painting in 2010 and got her Masters in Teaching at Tufts University in 2013, she loves to work on paper and on canvas and believes that teaching art is a great way to continue to challenge yourself in the studio.
Jaclyn's process includes being hyperaware and enchanted at the world around her (much to her friend's annoyance), thinking and imagining deeply at her relationships with beautiful organic forms and her own personal memories (sometimes so much so that she forgets everything else) and constantly painting over what she has painted with paper, paint or spackle when it doesn't look like a bird of paradise.
About the artist:
