Beautiful railing! I had one produced for a job back in 1990 it too was wrought iron. As I am now in CA, I find that the less costly way they do it is from tubular material...however one can not get the same look.. The one pictured could be done with some cast pieces but the look would not be the same. As for cost I would guess one would need to be well into the 20K $ range

you could not do a design like this in Tube, and there is no castings sold like this, you can buy oval designs that are pre-made in China but the quality is low, As a manufacture of iron guardrails i would say this staircase rail system would be custom manufactured, if you talking about cost it would depend of the lineal footage of the project, as well as the option to use wooden handrails or steel / bronze.

So right you are Jim, maybe I miss spoke and the 'rod material' was used and not the tube. Such a great look and there is such a difference in doing it correctly and not working to cut corners.. The manufacturer I used was in Tulsa, OK. They ship world wide.
My comment with regard to casting was to offer the idea that if there was a desire to do iron work for a railing there is a savings with casting.... quality isnt always at the top so the list

I find that cost is always a issue now of days, but always remember,,, you get what you pay for. Good quality is always a little more expensive
