Leather sofa and fabric sofa close ? - I have a brick red sofa and I just got a beige leather one. I was going to put the beige leather in my bedroom, but I have seen several rooms like this. What is your thinking ? »
Cheryl Westervelt My brick red sofa is material....I have 2 other fabric chairs in the room...I just didn't know about 2 sofas one of which is material and the other is leather....THanks
Beth Rosenfield Design LLC Oh! Sorry for the confusion. If the sofas are not both leather then it sounds like they can live comfortably together in the same room with pillows and accessories to tie the room together. Have fun with your decorating!
Beth Rosenfield Design LLC This cowhide ottoman with horn legs was purchased at an eclectic shop in Austin, Texas. I suggest you do an online search for "cowhide ottoman" to find an array of cowhide covered options. Also, check out www.oldtexas.com for some cow skin benches, etc..
Jacqueline Binhlam I believe the "red" leather couch is by Hancock and Moore, cranberry color. I have an exact one like that custom made by the now closed Colony House furniture store in Arlington, VA.
Beth Rosenfield Design LLC The fireplace was constructed from Connecticut field stone by a stone mason. The mantel and hearth are slabs of limestone. The walls are painted Benjamin Moore Litchfield Gray.
celineblechman Thanks, Beth! i picked out the Luberon plaid by myself yesterday, trying to match it, Do you remember where the chair is from? Thank you!
Beth Rosenfield Design LLC The chair is made by a "to the trade" furniture company that manufactures in North Carolina. They make private label furniture for designers and retail stores so you would not recognize their name as a retail brand (stores put their own brand name on the furniture). It is one of many companies I use as a resource in my design business. There are many great upholstery companies out there that will allow COM (customers own material) to be used for a custom piece, as was done with this chair.
Great shades. Would you please give me the brand and some advice on using a shade to cover multiple windows. - I like the shades and would love to know the brand. I'm trying to find a less expensive alternative to Conran Shades (Is there one or is everything a real step down?) I have three large windows in a row with only 6" between each window. Would you use one large shade, as you have done here for two windows, or would you use separate shades? Thank you. »
Beth Rosenfield Design LLC These shades are by Hunter Douglas, although they no longer make this exact color. They have many wonderful color choices. I believe there was a slight cost savings to do one shade over two windows vs. one shade on each window. Also, the larger the shade, the heavier it is to raise and lower. In your scenario I would do three separate shades. Depending on the length of your three windows I don't think HD would even make one shade that long, and it would be quite heavy. Good luck!
Beth Rosenfield Design LLC The hearth seat slab is called Indiana limestone. It's a bit porous and has been gently stained by the fireplace ashes, which can be minimized by sealing the stone. Mantel is same material with a natural rough edge.
I like this one the best. I love the comfortable yet elegant feel of the room. I like the red leather sofa with the nature like surroundings. The way guest face each other and can see one another while chatting is great. I great room to relax or entertain.
