fortsumter That is not brick but natural slate. Looks unsealed to keep the lighter color variations.

houssaon If you were to put a TV over a mantle this high in a room of this size, I'd say it is too high and might be uncomfortable to watch. My guess on this room is 8 or 9 foot ceiling and the mantle at almost 5 feet high.

kdgrace Thank you! Our room is a good bit larger than this one seems to be, so tv height would not be as bad. Your input is very helpful!

karenvs I think this might be a vintage piece by a company called Lloyd Loom, makers of wicker furniture. Though I've never seen this particular piece, it reminds me of their hampers & beside tables. These items can often be found at garage sales & on EBay.
