For outdoor entertaining that really makes a statement, an étagère is a must. Materials like wrought iron or other metals that are weather proof make upkeep a breeze. Plus, changing the color is simply a spray away. One great use: Keep herbs or spices right at your back door but away from the prying mouths of neighborhood animals.

If you're short on space on your étagère shelves, planting multiple herbs in one pot is a great option. Basil and curly parsley both love water, so they make great companions. Rosemary, sage and oregano thrive in drier environments and do well together.

Would love to have a split barn door like this out to our patio - especially for warmer summer evenings, so we can increase air flow, but keep the puppies inside!
