Mo Ooh! I'd like to know about the chess board and pieces as well. Love it!- Love the faux grass surround as well- makes it comfy to play. In addition, an
overhang for shade would be ideal.
Harold Leidner Landscape Architects The chess set pieces were made from teak. This terrace was on the top floor of the building so the winds would not allow a shade feature. Additionally, the terrace is on the north side of the building so there is plenty of shade from the building as shown in the photo. Thanks.
For chess fanatics, what can be better than your own giant chessboard? It may not be quite Harry Potter size, but it's still big enough that it's easy to watch the action even if you're not standing next to it.
Whoa!! Fun way to add just a bit of green and a whole lot of whimsy to an outdoor space. Although this looks like a VERY pricey installation (outdoor wall-mounted TV, full bar, penthouse/rooftop location) the chessboard idea could be used even in a smaller patio area.
