Inappropriate placement of the buddha? - Although I don't think it was intentional, those who seek to copy this tableau should be warned that placing a buddha head on the floor at foot level and, most importantly, in a position where it will be looked down upon, is likely to be considered a sign of blasphemy/disrespect in many Buddhist cultures. At the very best, it is rather shocking, somewhat akin to displaying a national flag with your footprints on it. Although not a Buddhist myself, I ask designers to avoid such an arrangement unless they really wish to give offense. »
znetbabe If you believe in Feng Shui, especially SE Asian culture, by placing these Buddha in the wrong place, you will not bring good luck to your home or life but the opposite.
Lorraine Lawson Fine Arts if you are referring to the diptych over the table in the foyer, the contact person would be Sylvia martin. Click on her name just below the photo and her info should come up.
Lorraine Lawson Fine Arts For clarification, the artwork displayed in the foyer is posted by Sylvia Martin. My work is posted in a separate response."Spriit of the Soul" and "Momentum"
Becky Harris Hi Sola, I am so sorry, no. This was submitted by a photographer and not a decorator, so unless it was her own styling prop, she would not be likely to know the source. Do you think they are photographs of water or a painting? I cannot tell.
Let a table with exotic style inspire your collection. There is a wide variety of items all around this intricate Asian table, from a palm tree to gorgeous paintings; a Buddha to a golden horse. Somehow it all works.
A fresh update on traditional Asian decor creates a welcoming vignette in the entry of this Southern home. The reflective blue artwork and neighboring palm tree gives clue to a coastal locale or an affection of Zen-like qualities.
There is it again: turquoise art paired with gold accessories. But, there's more. This entry provides all kinds of interesting things to look at: the airy lamp sitting atop the Asian-inspired console table with suitcases and a busy area beneath. The hint of an enormous plant gives the space even more life.
A bold piece of blue-hued art is used as a focal point in this space. The turquoise panels are reminiscent of ocean waters and bring a spirited twist to what would otherwise be a somewhat somber and serious vignette.
