"The master bath tiles are handmade from Sonoma Tilemakers, represented at Country Tile Floors at the SF Design Center," says Donnelly. "They have a large selection of pieces from base tiles, chair rails, corner pieces and even curved tiles used to form the arch. There 19 different types of tile in this bathroom. Rather than using one uniform color, I used a range of soft hues within the same palette. The focal point of the room is the arched tub area." The bathtub is an air tub from Basa. The marble flooring is from AKDO at Integrated Resources in Brisbane, while the tub deck and vanity counter top is by Daino Reale Marble from Integrated Resources.

This sage basketweave echoes the colors of the wall tile, but is a smaller scale pattern. Tip: When mixing or combining patterns, vary the scale for a pleasing look. Similar scale patterns compete with each other and are not easy on the eye.

Landscapes. This bathtub alcove, combined with the oil painting centered in its arch, draws one over to get a closer look.

Your floor does need to be level if you are going to use a baseboard-style trim piece. Note the base in this picture: Unlike most field tile, which can be cut to accommodate an uneven floor, base trim can't be cut without losing its profile.

I like the small bathtub withing the litte covey like area which would incorporate spanish colonial with the arch like shape surrounded by beige tiles.
