Venegas and Company This is Soapstone with an Ager to enhance and darken the color and accentuate the pretty veining.

Dorado Stone Distributors This is a fairly traditional soapstone. Black with the white veins - which has patina over time or has been enhanced with a Ager, oil or wax.

Venegas and Company If you plan to finish the hood in an alternate color, I advise floating the hood. This way the hood is an independent statement from the cabinets.

Venegas and Company Its OK, but we try to oversize the hood, even slightly, to push the adjacent upper cabinets away form the cooking surface. Like the above Mantle Hood - it is almost 42" wide.

Venegas and Company Thank you for your inquiry! "Simply White" is a great suggestion and probably very close. Unfortunately these cabinets are finished in the shop before they go to the job site and I do not know the exact color!

Anne DeCocco These tiles almost look like travertine, but very light. A good local tile showroom would be able to help you achieve this look.
