This chair was first showcased in 1929 at the Salon D'Automne in Paris, France. The Le Corbusie LC4 Lounge Chair, created in 1928, was the result of a collaborative vision in 1928 and the influential designers behind Le Corbusier's vision included Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Periand. This chair was originally commissioned for the interior design of a villa located in the Vilee d'Avray- located in the western suburbs of Paris, France. Otherwise known as the "relaxing machine," the LC4 Lounge Chair is a lounge that contours to the body's natural curves and at the same time it appears to float about its supports. The frame of this chair is very giving as its positions located on the base use gravity and the users natural weight to create a variety of reclining positions.
