Business Description
At Dresser Homes, we specialize in building beautiful homes in Atlanta’s premier intown neighborhoods — Ansley Park, Buckhead, Morningside, Sherwood Forest and Virginia-Highland. We know how to balance the space and entertaining needs of a modern family with the understated flavor of Atlanta’s most desired neighborhoods.

Since the late 1990s, Gary Dresser has been building high-end custom homes in Atlanta’s intown neighborhoods. With keen attention to detail and a commitment to client satisfaction, Gary has earned a reputation as the builder of choice in Ansley Park, Morningside, Sherwood Forest and Virginia-Highland.

Gary and his team choose just a few choice projects each year. That way they can focus their energies and talents on each specific site, ensuring that projects move smoothly and clients’ needs are met.

Working in close partnership with clients, Dresser Homes is dedicated to making every project pleasant. We are happy to recommend architects, bankers and interior designers or work in collaboration with those clients have selected.
We believe that close communication is key to keeping everyone on track. To enhance updates and exchange of ideas, we schedule weekly meetings with clients. We also value daily email as an easy means of communication. Our estimating expertise results in realistic budgets clients can bank on. We also deliver monthly status reports detailing actual-to-budget costs.

Our trustworthy network of highly skilled craftsmen is managed onsite by a Dresser Homes building superintendent.

I was the builder of the house. The interior design work and furnishings were done by Gretchen Gilstrap Edwards. Perhaps you could check with her. Here is a link to her website. http://www.gilstrapedwards.com/ Good luck!

Is this marble any less 'delicate' than calcutta and carrara since it is more tan/gold? Thank you.

Gosh, I really don't know whether it is any more or less porous or shows stains more or less than other marbles. I will say that I was in the house recently and after 6 years it has help up very well. As a general rule, I always recommend a honed finish over a polished as it shows marks less. There is a great Ideabook on marble counters here on Houzz. You should check it out.

This particular door in on the second floor, where the ceiling height is 9', so the door is 7'. On the Main Level, where the ceiling height is 10', the doors are 8'.

You are very generous with your time answering questions, often repeats of questions that already appear in the text. :-)

The light fixtures came from Masterpiece Lighting here in Atlanta. I'm not sure who the specific manufacturer was.

The shutters are a synthetic material. I believe they were MDO. Not sure of the manufacturer....we got them from Robert Bowden Inc here in Atlanta. They have held up very well.

True, Challenge, I agree that garages trump carports for convenience, and I love garages if they know their place, which IMO is not facing the street or "public" side of the home. My previous comment refers strictly to appearance, not function. The garage in my opinion has a negative impact on the appearance of this house. I think the ubiquitous front-facing, plain- panelled garage door is just plain ugly, no matter what the architectural style or age of the house. If space between lots is so tight that you can't swing your drive around to the side or back of your house (thus allowing a garage opening that doesn't face the street) then you should get a garage door that has some character, personality, or is well-camouflaged so that it's not the thing your eye goes to immediately when you look at a house.

I think the 48" upper cabinet option would be better. Yes, 48" is a tall door, but they can put magnetic latches at the top and bottom to help prevent the door from warping. I'm not sure the 30" with the 18" stacked on top would look as good. That's just my opinion though....you might have your kitchen designer draw it and it look just fine.
These cabinets were Crystal and Shiloh. Good Luck!
