We have been so pleased with The Maple Ridge Group experience that we have worked with them on three different home projects and are planning a fourth. Their team has always exhibited the utmost in professionalism coupled with a mandate to provide superior craftsmanship and an exceptional attention to detail. Our projects have ranged from a substantial renovation, a complex redesign and build to a standard home maintenance project involving house re-painting and millwork replacement. In all instances, Maple Ridge and their subcontractors have been exceptional- working on time and within budget. The collaboration has always been seamless and invaluable. Their ability to incorporate our vision and provide creative design input has been so incredible that we discarded the preexisting architecture plans on our first project and worked through the design-build with Maple Ridge. After that experience, we have relied solely on their design expertise on our subsequent projects. Maple Ridge Group is led by Steve Nicholson, an experienced builder who demands quality work from himself and the people who he works with. He epitomizes integrity and honesty that you would look for in the builder. We are extremely please with the addition to our house and would recommend this group without hesitation.

I hired Steve in 2015 for a new build on Locust Ave in Charlottesville, VA. This was a complicated project because it involved the subdivision of a lot as well as the construction of a new house. Steve was intimately involved in the project from start to finish & the whole thing ran incredibly smooth with his direction. I have worked with several General Contractors, and Steve has one of the best crews at his disposal to complete projects. His project management team is connected in all the right places & they helped ensure that the project was completed in the timeline given. Steve, his project managers & their crew pay strict attention to detail, so the job was completed correctly the first time and without any problems. For the relatively few things that he had to subcontract out, he had a strong relationship with those subcontractors & ensured they did the job they were contracted to do. The most frustrating problem to deal with when dealing with contractors is communication -- this is where Steve and his crew excel. Email, txt, phone calls all promptly returned. It's the best experience I've had dealing with any contractor or sub. They are an honest and hard-working crew that will go above and beyond to make your project amazing. I would definitely recommend the Maple Ridge Group -- there are very few construction companies that are in their league.

I engaged The Maple Ridge Group to execute a major renovation of our custom-built Japanese-style home, including an overhaul of the kitchen and bathrooms, the creation of a home theater and workout space in the basement, and the creation of a new living space in a previously undeveloped annex building. They performed this renovation with a meticulous attention to design authenticity and integrity, going so far as to work with a California-based specialist in Japanese architectural design and identifying a local Japanese carpenter for the detail work. During much of the renovation, I was not physically located in the area, which meant that I had to rely on the trustworthiness and integrity of the project manager and his team. They fully merited my trust, demonstrating professionalism and transparency throughout the process. The end result of the project was a living space of scrupulous design integrity and extraordinary aesthetic beauty. I can wholeheartedly recommend The Maple Ridge Group for any project.

The Maple Ridge Group is excellent ! They are the most creative builders I have ever worked with ! You can brainstorm ideas of what you want, make your own sketches on paper, describe things that have never been built, and they will find a way to build it ! From helping find the expert architect for the job through the engineering, & hiring reliable sub contractors with the same creative can-do drive. They helped us build a 42 foot Party-fort in the canopies of oak trees as well as a gorgeous stone garage that transforms when the tractors are out to a gorgeous gathering space for all kinds of functions. I truly enjoyed my year and a half building the 3 buildings and a cabana for a pond with a 3 story diving tower in the middle that fits perfectly into the landscape the following year. They helped create our family's dream destination 15 minutes from our home where family & friends are excited to share & spend time together as well as a bohemian oceanside cottage on a small island in the Turks & Caicos Islands having to source materials and subs out of the country ! You should hire Maple Ridge for sure !!

Having never before built a house we knew it was important to have the right builder, one that we could work with and who would listen to our needs and concerns. Very fortunately for us we were introduced by a mutual acquaintance to Steve Nicholson and the Maple Ridge Group. Professional, expert, caring, calm and so many more words could be used to describe their approach to building; not to mention the use of only the best materials.
